Pokwang welcomed the looming deportation of her former partner, Lee O’Brian, as she prepares herself for the role of being mother and father to their daughter, Malia. The actress-comedienne branded the ruling as “justice served.”

The Bureau of Immigration has issued a deportation order against O’Brian based on the complaint filed by Pokwang, whose real name is Marietta Subong, that he is an overstaying alien who is using his tourist visa to find work in the Philippines. Pokwang filed her complaint before the BI last June at the height of her conflict with O’Brian.

“Nagpapasalamat ako una sa Panginoon dahil pinakinggan nya ang aking mga dasal na magkaroon ng hustisya ang nangyari sa akin at sa aking anak,” Pokwang said in a statement on Saturday, as shared by her legal counsel, Rafael Calinisan.

(First of all, I thank God for answering my prayers of justice for what happened to me and my child.)

“Lubos din akong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng aking mga kaibigan at taga suporta na sinamahan ako sa bahagi na ito ng buhay ko,” she also said.

(I also thank my friends and supporters who have been with me during this chapter of my life.)

Pokwang said she will try to fill the gaps this decision on O’Brian’s deportation will bring to their child.

“Ngayon, lalo kong susubukan na maging mahusay na ina at ama sa aking anak. Lalo pa akong magsisikap sa araw-araw para maitaguyod ko ang aking pamilya,” Pokwang said.

(Now, I will strive to become a better mother and father to my child. I will also persevere more to provide for my family.)

“Hinding-hindi ko makakalimutan ang lahat ng taong tumulong sa amin ni Malia,” she added.

(I will never forget those who helped me and Malia.)
