After graduating from Presidential Security Group (PSG) classes in 2022, Kapuso actor and host Matteo Guidicelli marked a new milestone as he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in marketing management from the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City on Saturday, Dec. 9.
“Matteo Guidicelli is one of the USJ-R ETEEAP graduates today! In his speech, he emphasized the importance of responsible use of social media and the power of perception. He invited his fellow Josenian graduates to be catalysts of positive change. He graduated with a degree in BSBA-Marketing Management,” wrote the university on its Facebook page.
In his graduation speech, the actor emphasized his desire to formulate his knowledge in business and shared what drove him to keep going in the said endeavor.
“My only teacher and leader was my father. My dream in life is to be or try to be as good as my father in business, but I said to myself, ‘How would I do this? when you don’t have formal background education?'” said Guidicelli.
“I started developing this inspiration, motivation and appreciation for the course and why I was doing it. I started learning, appreciating and taking every class very seriously,” the actor continued.
The “Penduko” actor also shed light on the importance of responsible usage of social media and the power of perception. Guidicelli encouraged his fellow graduates to be carriers of change.
“Each and every one of us today has the power to create a difference, and because of what USJ-R was given to us today with our diplomas and education, this power has been solidified with us, in our hands. With the use of social media, we have the power to create perception, to create change, to create an effect on our Kababayans,” he said.
Guidicelli is the grandson of the Order of Augustinian Recollects brother general and former USJ-R dean, the late chief justice and senator Marcelo Fernan.
Before this achievement, the actor took theater courses at Brent International School. He also attended Columbia College in Chicago to pursue a B.A. in the performing arts. Guidicelli is also a Philippine Army reservist second lieutenant.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados is also among the 2023 graduates of the Cebu-based university, where she finished a bachelor’s degree in tourism management.
