Matteo Guidicelli looks back on his decade-long relationship with Sarah Geronimo
The Matteo Guidicelli and Sarah Geronimo tandem is one of the relationships that everyone has watched and cheered for given the controversies they have faced over the years.
Having spent 10 years of being together, with three years as a married couple, Guidicelli sat down on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Thursday, Nov. 23, to talk about the highlights and learnings in his relationship with the singer-actress.
The actor mentioned the importance of respect and listening in marriage, but pointed out that having God as the center of his relationship with Geronimo has been the ultimate secret to their togetherness.
“Matteo, God and Sarah. Always put God in the middle. That is very important. When you have God in the middle, respect comes, collaboration comes, love comes,” said the actor.
Since Guidicelli is a Filipino-Italian, there could be a cultural difference between him and Geronimo, a pure Filipina. “Tahimik ba kayo mag away, nagsisigawan ba kayo?” asked Abunda.

It’s a beautiful journey, arguing, quarreling, happy moments, sad moments.. But Sarah makes it a point that we pray together before going to bed. That’s something that’s natural in her…,” said Guidicelli.

“Seloso, pero hindi ko pinapakita,” he said, and proceeded to answer the question if his wife gets jealous, too. “Hindi naman siya selosa,”
“I know my boundaries as a husband and I’d like to protect that. Before we got married, we dated for a long time. I believe Sarah really protected our relationship. How? Being private and being silent from our industry.” Guidicelli said.
Guidicelli and Geronimo met in 2009 but only went public about their relationship in 2014. In February 2020, the couple tied the knot in a low-key but controversial wedding.
