Heart Evangelista is of a different caliber in terms of fashion. The actress has gained the reputation of being a fashion week habitué, proving her natural elegance in different fashion weeks every year.

Given that Evangelista is a preeminent role model in the fashion department, MEGA editor-in-chief Peewee Reyes-Isidro asked the actress in an interview how she felt about local celebrities following in her footsteps attending fashion weeks.

“The truth is, I’m very happy. The only thing I don’t like is some people’s mentality is really messed up. Filipino to Filipino, we know the crab mentality exists. When I was doing fashion week, when I was working with other celebrities or influencers from different regions, I never felt like I was in a rat race,” she explained.

With the online rumors that the fashion icon was affected when co-celebrities Pia Wurtzbach, Liza Soberano and others attended the last Milan Fashion Week, Evangelista noted that fashion week should be chill and not nasty.

“This is just fashion week, guys. This is not like the fight of your life. It’s supposed to be chill, enjoy, and be yourself. I get it, but it gets nasty. I’m here to support whoever goes, but we all have to do it the right way. Like Anne Curtis, for example.” she said.

The 38-year-old socialite commended Anne Curtis-Smith for being so nice to send out a message before the industry event, unlike those who are making their attendance a big deal or top secret.

“She’s really nice. She even said she hoped to see me. I think that’s cute. But I don’t like it when other people are sneaky about it. What’s it like to keep it a secret? Parang may pasabog. It’s just Fashion Week. It’s not a Hollywood movie,” Evangelista affirmed.

The “I Left My Heart in Sorsogon” star emphasized that it’s never a competition for her, and it’s one of the things that she hates most that some people are making fashion week nasty when it’s supposed to be enjoyable.

“It’s just the mentality, doon nagkakaiba. For me, it’s never a competition. For others, it’s never a competition. But for some, apparently, it is. And for some, it’s nasty, and I don’t like that vibe. I’ve been doing it for such a long time. Fashion Week is supposed to be fun.” the actress concluded.
