Many personalities took to social media to express their sadness over Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s split; among them was award-winning actress Sharon Cuneta.

The megastar urged fans to be kind and to “not take sides” amid Bernardo and Padilla’s breakup.

“All we can and should do is pray for her and Daniel. Please, let us not take sides like Kath has requested. Be kind to those who are hurting and pray for them instead of judging and making up stories in our heads,” Cuneta wrote on Instagram.

The singer-actress reminded the fans that what they see on screen is nothing compared to what goes beyond the celebrities’ lives that only they know and understand.

“Ang nakikita lang natin lahat ay pictures at mga palabas naming mga artista sa TV at pelikula, pero di natin alam ang nagaganap pag silang dalawa na lang ang magkaharap,” she said.

“Be strong too, Kathniel fans. If you truly love them, you must love them even if they are now apart. God bless you, my girl Kath, and you too, DJ. Only you two know what is best for you, and everyone else should respect that and not make it their business,” Cuneta added.

In a separate post, the 57-year-old actress was pushed to look back on her personal experience, given she was the other half of “ShaGab” with actor Gabby Conception, which also led to separation, validating the feelings of the former young couple.

“Reading this brought me back to ‘that time’ in my life… “those times,” because I had to endure my pain and face public scrutiny more than once, and I am not even sure if I will ever have to go through all that again,” Cuneta expressed.

“I am crying for you because I too have loved you as much as you both did. I am so proud of how you have handled this whole situation in this one post. This too shall pass,” the actress concluded.
