BLACKPINK’s pop culture impact

The King praised the K-Pop stars in his speech, recognizing the participation of the global superstars in an important environmental cause.

“I applaud Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé, better known collectively as BLACKPINK, for their role in bringing the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience as ambassadors for the UK’s Presidency of COP 26, and later as advocates for the UN Sustainable Development Goals,” said the King.

“I can only admire how they can prioritize these vital issues, as well as being global superstars,” he added.

Since the group’s creation in 2016, BLACKPINK has proved that they are a universal influence, not just in the pop culture scene but also in worldwide issues of concern.
