WATCH: Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera an unhappy couple in ‘Rewind’ first trailer
Star Cinema has dropped the first trailer for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Rewind,” showing real-life couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera struggling in an unhappy marriage.
Rivera portrays a wife who endures an ill-natured treatment from her husband, played by Dantes, seemingly in an effort to save their marriage, as seen on Star Cinema’s YouTube channel on Monday, Nov. 13.
In one of the scenes, Dantes criticizes Rivera for choosing to wear a jet black dress, saying, “‘Yan ang susuotin mo? Parang pupunta ka ng lamay e.” (You’re wearing that? It looks like you’re going to attend a wake.)
A dejected Rivera responded, “Lamay ko naman talaga e (Well it’s actually my wake),” which caused the actor to snap and play a rewind of their relationship—including moments from their wedding—in his head.
A road accident then takes place—although the individuals involved are not immediately shown—as the narrator says, “Life is short, shorter than you think.”
