LOOK: DongYan in wedding scene as ‘Rewind’ starts filming
Filming for the reunion movie of Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes recently commenced, as some cast members shared behind-the-scenes snaps from a wedding scene.
The Kapuso actor was among those who marked their first day on the set of “Rewind,” which was, earlier in the year, declared an official entry in the upcoming 49th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
On his Instagram, Dantes uploaded multiple photos from their first day shooting the Mae Cruz-Alviar feature, including a close-up shot of his wife and on-screen partner in a wedding veil.
“Day one with my ‘leading lady’ on and off-cam, alongside this incredibly talented, fun cast, in a film directed by Mae Cruz. [emoji],” said the “Royal Blood” actor, who also shared a photo with Rivera and their co-stars—who were dressed as guests at the on-screen wedding.
Present in the photo were Joross Gamboa, Ariel Ureta, Gil Aguedan Jr., Via Antonio, Ina Feleo and Coney Reyes, who is also set to appear in the local adaptation of the Korean drama “Brilliant Legacy.”

Gamboa, Aguedan Jr., Antonio and Feleo also teased the upcoming film on their Instagram, as they shared more moments from the movie set. They also expressed their thoughts about being part of the film, which Cruz-Alviar said—during a media launch months prior—is “a family drama with a touch of magic realism.” She also added that “it’s all about second chances; how far would you go to get that second chance?”
Antonio, aside from sharing that it is her first time to be part of a movie topbilled by the husband-and-wife duo, also said that the feature feels “like a reunion.” She gets to work again with Cruz-Alviar—her director in projects such as “2 Good 2 Be True” and “Unbreakable”—and Reyes, who, like her, acted in the Kapamilya drama “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.”
Feleo, who has also previously worked with Cruz-Alviar, noted the “happy” atmosphere while they were filming. “You know when the mood is happy on set that it’s gonna be a good film,” she shared.
Meanwhile, Rivera, who last topbilled a film alongside her better half several years ago, has said that their reunion movie is one project that they believe will make their kids—Zia, 7; and Sixto, 4—proud of their parents.
“Rewind,” which is a collaboration among Star Cinema, APT Entertainment and Agosto Dos Media, will be the Kapuso actress’ first Star Cinema film. /ra
