Boy Abunda assured fans that he will be giving updates on her longtime friend Kris Aquino, with the King of Talk disclosing that her health condition has lately been unpredictable.
During his show “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, Nov. 7, Abunda recounted the highlights of his October reunion with the Queen of All Media in the United States.
“Oct. 25 kami nagkita ng aking kaibigan, my sister Kris Aquino sa kanyang tahanan sa (My sister Kris Aquino and I met last Oct. 25 at her home in) Orange County in Los Angeles, California. It was a happy, beautiful reunion,” he began.
“Dahil matagal kaming hindi nagkita ni Kris—text lamang and telepono kami nagkakausap—it was different seeing her,” he continued. “Tatanggapin ko po, ako’y naging emosyonal… Pinipigilan ko pong [umiyak] pero naiyak po ako. Namiss ko po si Kris.”
(We had not seen each other for a very long time and we had only talked through the phone, so it was different seeing her. I admit I became emotional. I tried to stop myself from crying, but I failed. I really missed Kris.)
Abunda said they enjoyed a nice conversation and talked about a lot of things, so that Kris’ youngest son Bimby said he felt as if he had returned to his childhood and was watching his mom and Abunda host a talk show.
“Sabi ko nga kay Kris, ‘Kris, magpagaling ka. Gagawa tayo ng palabas,'” Abunda recalled. (I told Kris, “Please get well so that we can make another show.”)
Abunda further stated that Kris might have to stay for another 15 to 18 months in the US because of her medication for her autoimmune diseases, but he noted, “We are praying na sana ay mapaikli po ito para makasama na natin si Kris dito sa Pilipinas.”
“She wanted me to let you know na sobra ang kanyang pasasalamat na hindi niya kainakailangang kaibigan, kakilala, ka-trabaho o kamag-anak but alam niya maraming nagdadasal para sa kanya,” he continued.
(She wanted me to let you know that she is very thankful that [aside from her] friends, acquaintances, fellow actors and relatives, there are a lot more people praying for her.)
Abunda underscored that he missed the former actress-TV host and that he’s continuously praying for Kris’ recovery.
“…’Yung kanyang health condition [ay] pabago-bago, nagbabago. Kaya sabi nga niya, ‘Boy, baka hindi accurate.’ Kaya hayaan niyo po, we will be giving you updates sa mga darating na panahon,” he said.
(Her health is unpredictable, and constantly changes. That’s why she told me that [what she knows now about her health] might not be accurate. But don’t worry, we will be giving you updates in due time.)
Abunda concluded his statement on Kris by addressing her: “I love you. I love you Bimb, Josh and everybody in that house—mahal na mahal ko po kayo. Maraming salamat sa panahon na ibinigay mo sa akin, Krissy.”
(…I love you all so muuch. Thank you for making time for me, Krissy.)
