Piolo Pascual grateful to Shaina Magdayao for ‘putting up’ with him

Despite being rumored to be in a relationship with Shaina Magdayao for quite some time, Piolo Pascual said that he “doesn’t want to be unfair” to the actress, although he noted that she’s able to “put up” with him through “ups and downs.”
Pascual told reporters on the sidelines of his “An Ultimate Night with Piolo” media conference that while he enjoys Magdayao’s presence in his life, he doesn’t have the time to focus on his personal life at the moment.
“Tingnan po natin ang mangyayari (Let’s see what’s going to happen). Let’s see,” he said, when asked if he’s planning to settle down in the future. “It’s just for now, I’m really busy and it’s just something that I don’t have any time for. So I don’t wanna be unfair.”
The actor-singer shared that there’s “mutual respect” between him and Magdayao since she “stuck [and] stood by him” through the years.
“There’s mutual respect [between Shaina Magdayao and I]. She’s able to put up with me through the years, through ups and downs. We’ve been through so many, not necessarily problems, but issues. [Despite this], she stuck by me, stood by me,” he said.
Pascual clarified that he and the actress are not in a relationship despite being “around” for years. “She never wavered. That’s one thing I really appreciate about Shai. That’s why we are still around. But you know, I’m not dating anyway.”
“So, what you see when we’re together is really how we are,” he continued. “So I hope she’s not dating too.”
The “Dekada ‘70” star then chose to address romance speculations hounding him and Magdayao by making a quip about “commitment.” To recall, Pascual revealed that he’s “exclusively dating” the actress in February 2017, although he noted in past interviews that he “doesn’t see the point of being in a relationship.”
“Matagal ‘no? Dapat pala siguro gan’n talaga. Walang commitment. Sabay ganun eh (It’s been going for quite some time, don’t you think? I guess that’s how it should be). No commitment,” he said before laughing. “Para tumagal. Walang pressure. Bata pa rin naman siya (So it can last for long. No pressure. She’s still young anyway),” he continued.
During the chat, Pascual also debunked rumors that he’s the father of Magdayao’s alleged baby. The actress was speculated to be pregnant earlier this month, which she firmly denied on her Instagram Stories.
“Siyempre sini-secret namin talaga… Buti pa kayo alam (Of course, we kept it a secret. Good for you that you know about this,” he joked before laughing. EDV
