Despite not being able to see his former partner Shaila Rebortera and their daughter Amelia for over two months now, Rob Gomez said he’s full of hope as he and the beauty queen are trying to fix their relationship privately.

“We’re fixing it. We’re trying to fix it internally; keep it away from social media,” he spoke of their situation during an interview with GMA reporter Lhar Santiago for “24 Oras” on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

“Because — I’m sorry, but we live in a world where anyone can say anything about anyone at any time. So, ayoko na lang din po dumagdag do’n sa contribution ng gano’n klaseng way of thinking,” he added. (So I don’t want to add to those with that kind of thinking.)

The actor also said that he has been keeping himself busy to endure his longing for Rebortera, who left Gomez’s home with their daughter Amelia when the beauty queen accused him of physical and verbal abuse.

Rebortera, crowned Miss Multinational Philippines 2021 and Miss Millennial Philippines 2018, introduced Amelia to the public in August after Gomez declared he was single in a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview. A few days later, Rebortera showed photos of her arm bruises from alleged domestic abuse.

Rebortera also revealed that Gomez’s mother attempted to silence her and asked her to apologize for claiming she suffered from “physical, verbal and emotional abuse” from the actor’s hands.

Gomez then made a public apology to Rebortera, wherein he said that the beauty queen is not “an option for [him] to lose.” EDV
