Dennis Trillo’s loyalty remains with GMA, as he recently renewed his contract with the Kapuso network, which has served as his home network for the past 20 years.
On Instagram, the “Voltes V: Legacy” actor expressed his gratitude to GMA as he celebrated two decades of being a Kapuso artist.
“Ako si Dennis Trillo at dalawampung taon na akong Kapuso [heart emoji]. Salamat sa GMA, sa tiwala, sa respeto, sa paninindigan at lalo sa lahat, sa pagmamahal na tumagal [nang] dalawang dekada. Buong buhay kong tatanawing utang na loob ang lahat ng kabutihan ninyo sa akin [folded hands emoji],” he said, and also shared moments from the contract-signing event.
(I am Dennis Trillo and I have been a Kapuso artist for 20 years. Thank you to GMA for the trust, respect, for standing by me, and most of all, for the love that has carried on for two decades. I’ll forever be grateful for the goodness you have shown me.)
Furthermore, in a press release, the award-winning actor looked back on moving to GMA after he was launched as one of the members of Star Circle batch 10, along with his “Love Before Sunrise” co-star Bea Alonzo.
“Naalala ko ‘yung pakiramdam nung unang pagtungtong ko rito sa GMA. Para kang pumapasok sa bagong teritoryo, bagong tahanan. Hindi mo alam kung anong mangyayari sa career mo. Now, feeling fulfilled ako na na-achieve ko ang mga pangarap ko. Sobrang blessed na hanggang ngayon nandito pa rin ako sa industriya,” shared Trillo, who appeared in Kapamilya programs such as “Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan” before landing lead roles in Kapuso dramas.
(I remember how it felt like when I first joined GMA. It was like entering new territory, a new home. You have no idea what’s going to happen to your career. Now, I feel fulfilled that I have achieved my dreams. I am very blessed to still be in the entertainment industry.)
The contract-signing event was graced by the network’s bosses — chairman and chief executive officer Atty. Felipe Gozon, president and chief operating officer Gilberto Duavit, Jr., executive vice president and chief financial officer Felipe Yalong, and senior vice president for entertainment group Lilybeth Rasonable. The actor’s manager, Katrina Aguila, was also in attendance.
In the same press material, Yalong expressed how proud they are of Trillo’s achievements and that they’re delighted that he will be continuing his journey with GMA. Rasonable, meanwhile, shared how it’s a “challenge” to craft roles for someone with Trillo’s acting prowess.
“[A]ctually, kami ang nacha-challenge na isipan ng roles si Dennis kasi he really performs to the best of his abilities and nagagampanan niya [ang mga role] beyond our expectations. That’s why we want to give the roles that he deserves because napakahusay talaga niya,” she said.
(Actually, we’re the ones who feel challenged to come up with roles for Dennis because he really performs to the best of his abilities, and he portrays his roles beyond our expectations. That’s why we want to give the roles that he deserves because he’s really very good at what he does.)
Several people sent him love and congratulatory messages, including fellow actors and celebrity dads Dingdong Dantes, Mike Tan, and Rocco Nacino, whose son recently celebrated his first birthday.
For the past two decades, Trillo, who is married to Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado, has starred in several GMA series such as “Super Twins,” “My Husband’s Lover,” “Cain at Abel,” and “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” to name a few. EDV
