Captivating Katkat was declared the winner of the second season of “Drag Race Philippines” during the show’s final episode on Wednesday night, Oct. 4, emerging victorious over 11 other contestants.
Also known as Katkat Dasalla, Captivating Katkat, who hails from Antipolo, Rizal, goes by the pronouns she/her. She was named the show’s Season 2 drag superstar after winning the final lip-sync showdown against Arizona Brandy to the song “Kapangyarihan” by iDolls.
Katkat, who was wearing the trans flag during the announcement, burst into tears after her name was called by host Paolo Ballesteros, as captured by one @m1ss_j4de_s0 on X (formerly Twitter).
She was then crowned by Season 1 winner Precious Paula Nicole.

Meanwhile, Hana Beshie was named the show’s Miss Congeniality.
The drag performer, who has earned two wins prior to the finale, is one of the three drag contestants who identifies as a transgender woman, aside from Bernie and M1ss Jade So.
Captivating Katkat’s victory, however, is marred by the arrest of “Drag Den” alum Pura Luka Vega earlier on Wednesday night over charges of “immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions, and indecent shows.”
Known as the local franchise of the hit reality competition series, season two of “Drag Race Philippines” premiered last August. EDV
