Park Eun-bin fulfills dream to be a singer in comeback series ‘Castaway Diva’
More than a year since “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” was released, Park Eun-bin is set to make her return to K-drama land as an aspiring singer in the upcoming series “Castaway Diva” which will premiere on Oct. 28.
“Castaway Diva” will tell the story of Seo Mok-ha, portrayed by Park, who aims to reenter society to pursue her dream of being a world-famous singer.
The teaser, which was uploaded on a streaming platform’s YouTube channel, shows Park taking on the role of a castaway who’s stranded on a remote island for 15 years. Among the scenes showed her swimming underwater, interacting with animals, and imagining herself as a diva performing in front of audiences.
“As of this moment, my futile 15 years have become meaningful,” Park said through a voiceover.
The actress hinted about the project last June during a press conference in the Philippines, where she spoke about starring in a K-drama where she’ll portray an “aspiring singer” who got stuck on an island for 15 years.
“My upcoming project tells the story of a person who got stranded on a deserted island for 15 years after getting into an accident. But it will revolve around what happens once this person was able to leave the island… I also [discovered] that there are so many islands in the Philippines, so I feel like my Filipino fans will be able to relate to the series and characters,” she was quoted as saying.
Park, who won the Daesang or Grand Prize at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards last April, is best known for her lead roles in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo,” “The King’s Affection,” and “Do You Like Brahms.” EDV
