Mikee Quintos revealed that she once had romantic feelings for Alden Richards and that she confessed to the actor—an “experience” she said she’s not ashamed to admit.
The actress made this revelation during an episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Monday, Oct. 2, wherein she played the “Talk or Dare” game alongside actor Mikoy Morales.
“Umasa ka ba na magkaroon ng isang relasyon sa isang co-star or artista?” show host Abunda asked Quintos, who chose to answer the question than do the dare. (Did you ever hope of having a relationship with a certain co-star or a celebrity?)
“Si Richards po, si Alden,” she said, referring to the Kapuso actor whom she and Morales worked with in the 2019 TV series “The Gift.” “We talked about it. We’re good friends pa rin [ni Richards].”
Quintos disclosed that she was able to know Richards on a deeper level after she and Morales stayed with the “Hello, Love, Goodbye” star in the same tent during a shooting.
“Nakilala ko ‘yung pagkatao niya na sweet siya, mabait siya, kung gaano ka-genuine, sobrang God-fearing. And, I just had to try to express whatever I was feeling—I couldn’t explain it,” she said. (I got to know him better—how sweet, kind, genuine and God-fearing he is. And, I just had to try to express whatever I was feeling—I couldn’t explain it.)
“I did express but it wasn’t reciprocated,” she continued. “Sinabi ko ‘yon straight up. I think ngayon nakikita ko na ‘yung worth ng tapang ko. Hindi siya something na ikakahiya ko. I grew from it and I learned a lot from it. It was an experience.”
(I confessed my feelings to him straight up. I think now I have realized the worth of my courage. It’s not something that I would be ashamed of. I grew from it and I learned a lot from it. It was an experience.)
Morales, meanwhile, was asked to reveal the actor with whom he had a misunderstanding in the past. After thinking for a few moments, the actor decided to answer the question.
“I wouldn’t consider it as alitan kasi hindi naman kami nagsagutan pero (a dispute because we didn’t have a confrontation but)—Jaclyn Jose,” he said, adding that they still haven’t resolved the conflict between them.
Morales further disclosed that there was an instance when he turned around and walked the other way just so he could avoid bumping into the veteran actress.
“Nangyari [‘yung conflict] sa trabaho pero hindi siya dahil sa trabaho. Isa ‘to sa mga madalas mangyari but I took personally,” the younger actor stated, hinting at the cause of the misunderstanding. (It happened during work but it’s not about work. It’s something that usually happens but I took it personally.)
“Maybe it’s something like that, which kind of scared me to the point that I would get anxious when I would think of stepping in set with her there,” he added. /ra
