Trina Candaza opted to remain silent on the supposed case filed against her by her former partner, actor Carlo Aquino, to secure visitation rights over their three-year-old daughter Mithi.

Aquino has reportedly taken legal action against Candaza and was earlier spotted at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court for an apparent hearing, as per Philippine Entertainment Portal.

Comedian Ogie Diaz, who was among the celebrities present at Mithi’s recent birthday party, then reached out to Candaza regarding the matter.

“Tungkol sa ni-file na visitation rights ni Carlo sa RTC QC, sinabi ni Trina sa akin na ‘yung tungkol doon ay ayaw na muna niyang magsalita, at pipiliin niyang manahimik alang-alang daw kay Mithi,” Diaz said via his YouTube vlog on Sunday, Sept. 17. “Nangangahulugan lang na nasa korte na nga ang kaso at bawal sa magkabilang party ang magsalita.”

(With regard to the case filed by Carlo for his visitation rights [over Mithi], Trina told me that she does not want to comment on the matter at the moment, and that she has chosen to keep her silence for Mithi’s sake. This just means that the case is already in court and that both parties are prohibited to publicly speak about it.)

Diaz also reiterated in his vlog that Aquino and his family were invited to Mithi’s birthday party, although it was not immediately known why the actor was not in the event.

Candaza, who is currently on a Palawan trip with her daughter, as well as Aquino have yet to publicly speak up on the matter as of this writing.

Aquino and Candaza became a couple in January 2019, and welcomed Mithi in September 2020. The pair broke up in December 2021 after being in a relationship for three years.

Earlier this year, Aquino claimed that he was being prevented from seeing their daughter. Candaza denied this and said that the actor visits Mithi and fulfills his responsibility as a father, although he allegedly “only gives the bare minimum.”

Aquino and Candaza were last seen together in public in May when they attended Mithi’s moving up ceremony.  /ra
