Ogie Diaz gave his two cents on the “disagreement” between SexBomb member Izzy Trazona-Aragon and her drag artist son Andrei, reminding the celebrity mom that whatever her son may be, his existence has a purpose.

After the public statements of Izzy and Andrei on the latter’s coming out, openly gay dad Diaz chimed in on the matter and addressed the SexBomb member through his Facebook page on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

“Nung una, tanggap mong bakla ang anak mo. Ipinagmamalaki mo ngang dalaga na ang anak mo, eh,” Diaz said. “Tapos ngayon, [may] nagpa-realize lang sa ‘yo na parang kasalanan ang maging bakla, wini-wish mo na sana ay magising sa katotohanan ang anak mo?”

(At first, you accepted that your son is gay. You even proudly said that he’s already a teenage girl. But now, you seem to have realized that being a gay is a sin, so you are wishing for a wake-up call for your son?)

“I think, mas kasalanan sa Diyos ‘yang kaipokritahan mo. Tinanggap mo nung una, tapos ngayon, babawiin mo? Laban-laban, bawi-bawi?” he continued, making a reference to the SexBomb’s song “Bakit Papa?” “So masisisi ba natin yung bata kung magsabi siya na hindi na healthy kung magsasama pa kayong mag-ina?”

(I think your hypocrisy is a bigger sin against God. You accepted him at first, then now you are taking back your support? “Fighting then backing out”? So can we blame the child for saying that it would only be unhealthy if you two would live together again?)

Diaz then offered a piece of advice to Izzy, emphasizing that she should let her son find his purpose in the world on his own.

“Kahit maging pusa o sirena pa yang anak mo someday, anak mo yan, tanggapin mo. May purpose ang existence niya sa mundo, hayaan mong hanapin niya,” Diaz stated. “At tanggapin mo ang anak mo kung hindi naman nanghahamak o nang-aapi ng kapwa.”

(Even if your son becomes a cat or a mermaid, he’s still your child, so accept him. His existence in this world has a purpose; let him find it on his own. As long as he does not cause harm to others, accept your child.)

Some netizens nodded in agreement with Diaz and echoed his sentiment in the comments section.

Izzy seemingly expressed her disapproval of Andrei being gay and doing drag, saying she wants what’s “best” for her son and that she is “holding on with the truth that is written in the Bible.”

In response to this, Andrei admitted that he lied about his mom’s support in an earlier interview and noted that he was just “[protecting] her from any backlash.”  /ra
