Arjo Atayde has received a nomination for Best Lead Actor at this year’s edition of the Asia Contents Awards (ACA) for his portrayal of the role of Anton dela Rosa in the crime series “Cattleya Killer.”

Atayde’s nomination was announced by ABS-CBN International Production on its official Instagram page on Tuesday, Sept. 12, where he’s up against actors from South Korea, Thailand, Japan, and China.

“He’s killing it!” the post read. “We are pleased to announce that Arjo Atayde is nominated for Best Lead Actor in this year’s Asia Contents Awards for his role as Agent Anton dela Rosa in premium drama series, #CattleyaKilleronPrime!”

The actor-turned-politician will be going up against Yagira Yuya (Japan), Takeru Satoh (Japan), Nat Kitcharit (Thailand), Ryu Seung-ryong (South Korea), and Fan Wei (China).

The ACA is an awards giving body based in Busan, South Korea, which aims to “celebrate the achievements of excellent content made for TV, OTT, and online across Asia.”

“This year’s ACA joins forces with the International OTT Festival, co-hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and Busan Metropolitan City– expanding its topography from Asia to the world, embracing changes in the growing content industry, and encouraging domestic and international well-made content,” ABS-CBN’s post said.

The awarding ceremony will be held on Oct. 8 at the Busan Cinema Center in South Korea.

Apart from his work in “Cattleya Killer,” Atayde is best known for his work in “Bagman,” “Ang Probinsyano,” “The General’s Daughter,” “Hanggang Saan,” and “Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles,” where he met his now-wife Maine Mendoza, and the award-winning film “Topakk,” which won recognition at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France and at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.
