James Reid ‘very in love’ with Issa Pressman: ‘I love her values in life’

After seemingly confirming their romance last March, James Reid declared that he’s “very in love” with Issa Pressman — while describing her as a partner who’s “incredibly inspiring.”
The couple sent netizens abuzz after they were seen together at Harry Styles’ concert in Bulacan in March. Six months later, the couple were inseparable at the Preview Ball as they gamely answered questions about their blooming romance.
“There’s no better way to say it. I’m very in love. I’m very happy. The best part about tonight’s that I’m here with Issa,” Reid told reporters at the black carpet, while his hand was on the small of Pressman’s back.
Meanwhile, the model-actress said the “best thing” about her romance with the actor-singer is they “always support each other.”
“I have my strengths, he has his, so we just help each other… He’s sweet, he’s very caring. I would say honestly, because he has Careless under his name, some people would think that he’s careless, but honestly, he’s very caring,” she said, an apparent reference to her partner’s label Careless, an entertainment label he founded.
“He saves all of his time for his family and people he actually really cares about. He’s like a glue to everyone in the office, to his family, and the way that I hear him talk to each member [of Careless] is unbelievable. He has so much love,” she continued.
For his part, Reid sees Pressman as the “sunshine” that “lights up his day,” while noting that her values and inspiring personality are things that he had been looking for in a partner.
“I like to describe Issa as sunshine. That’s how she feels [to me],” he said. “She lights up my day. She inspires me. She’s an incredibly inspiring person, she’s very strong, and I love her values in life. It’s something that I really look for in a partner.”
Living ‘in the moment’
The couple, who remained mum on how their relationship started, laughed when asked about the possibility of working together in a film in the future.
“I haven’t done acting in a while actually,” Pressman admitted while laughing. “We haven’t talked about that yet. We just want to live [in the moment] with each other, getting to know each other on a deeper level than before.”
Even though the “u & i” singer confessed that attending events with Pressman had been a “crazy experience,” he said that he’s “comfortable” talking about their relationship despite the “past six months” being “really crazy.”
“It’s been a crazy week. It’s been a crazy experience going to these events together… we’re comfortable talking about [our relationship]. Especially that it’s so easy. It’s so easy to talk about it. For the past six months, it’s been really crazy, a lot of misunderstandings so I think it’s easier for us to be ourselves,” he said.
For her part, Pressman admitted that she’s the type of person who “always gets nervous” when it comes to attending events, but having Reid by her side “makes her feel safe.”
“Honestly, in any event that I go to, I always get nervous. Going to an event with James has been comforting because he makes me feel safe. [I’m very] comfortable with him,” she said. EDV
