James Reid addresses twinning moment with ex Nadine Lustre at brand event

Days after exes James Reid and Nadine Lustre unintentionally wore matching gray suits at a Gucci event, the “u & i” singer clarified that their outfits were curated by the brand for its local ambassadors.
Reid and Lustre were present at the luxury brand’s grand reopening in Makati City last Sept. 6, where the former was accompanied by his girlfriend Issa Pressman. The event caught the attention of netizens, as they noticed that the “Never Not Love You” stars’ outfits had the same gray pinstripe plaid pattern.
Also present were the exes’ fellow local ambassadors Liza Soberano and Anne Curtis.
The singer-actor, however, said the outfits were “picked out by the international Gucci team” during an interview at the Preview Ball’s black carpet last Sept. 8. “Yes, I saw that. Issa [Pressman] was the one who showed it to me. She was like, ‘Ohmigod, your outfits are matching’” he said, when asked about the encounter with Lustre.
“The clothes were picked out by the international Gucci team, and it just turns out that our outfits matched. I just had a lot of fun at the Gucci event with the rest of the Careless team and it was great to see her. It was a great night,” Reid continued.
Pressman then confessed that Reid “didn’t notice” the unintentional coordination with Lustre at the event, although she clarified that she only “saw the actual picture.”
“I also didn’t notice [at the event itself]. I [just] saw the actual picture. Wala lang, yeah, I mean, clothes are clothes, right? They’re both, like, Gucci ambassadors and they both repped it well. So, we’re, like, good job to the Philippines for [representing] Gucci so well,” she said.
When asked about his relationship with Lustre, the “Hello 2.0” singer said they had been on good terms “ever since before.”
“Yeah, ever since before. But it’s all Gucci,” he added.
Reid and Lustre were in a relationship for four years before their split was confirmed in January 2020. They were previously in a popular loveteam called JaDine, which earned a dedicated fanbase and a successful string of projects.
The “Cool Down” singer confirmed his relationship with Pressman in March of this year, after they were spotted together at Harry Styles’ concert at the Philippine Arena.
Meanwhile, Lustre is currently in a relationship with Filipino-French entrepreneur Christophe Bariou. EDV
