Albeit only on recorded video, it was a magical moment for Ogie Alcasid to hear his composition being played as actress Lovi Poe walked down the aisle.
In an Instagram post, the singer-songwriter shared a video of the bride — in a Patricia Santos creation — making her way to her groom, British film producer Monty Blencowe, while an instrumental version of Alcasid’s composition “Pangarap Ko ang Ibigin Ka” was being played in the background.
The veteran musician expressed how he “would have loved” to see the lovebirds say their “I do’s” in person, but shared that the clip, which featured his hit, “instantly” took him to the couple’s “sacred place of union.”
The “Batang Quiapo” star married the US-based producer in Berkshire, England, following their engagement “a couple of years ago.”
“Dear Lovi, I would have loved to witness you be married to Monty in this enchanting place but watching this reel and hearing ‘Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka’ in the background transports me instantly into your sacred place of union,” wrote the “It’s Showtime” mainstay, who would then relay his well wishes for the newlyweds.
“I wish you peace, happiness, and true joy, my dear, as you live in love with your hubby. I have been blessed to have seen you grow from a young lady to now a glowing, beautiful bride. The Lord bless you both and keep you!! Love you,” said Alcasid, who also just celebrated a new milestone — his 56th birthday on Sunday.
The actress-singer, a couple of years ago, appeared on Alcasid’s YouTube channel where they covered Juris’ “Di Lang Ikaw.” And even earlier, they both appeared in the Kapuso variety show “Sunday All Stars.”
Alcasid had previously mentioned that the inspiration behind “Pangarap Ko ang Ibigin Ka” was his wife Regine Velasquez, who in 2003, starred in a film of the same title opposite Christopher de Leon. EDV
