Loisa Andalio revealed that she forgave her boyfriend, actor Ronnie Alonte, despite being unfaithful before, as he owned up to his mistakes and was willing to patch up their relationship.
Andalio pointed out that forgiving Alonte regardless of his infidelity is her “choice,” during an interview with Push, which was uploaded on its official YouTube channel last Friday, Aug. 18, saying he was able to be upfront about his past mistakes.
“‘Yung point na inamin niya yung pagkakamali niya, ‘yun yung malaking bagay kasi marami akong kilala sa past relationships ko na huling huli mo na, hindi pa umaamin…, she said. “Mas mahirap patawarin yung mga huling-huli mo na, todo deny pa. Pero siya aminado siya at hindi na niya uulitin, eh ‘di okay tayo.”
(The point that he admitted his mistakes is a big thing for me. I know many people in my past relationships who won’t own up to their mistakes even if you already caught them doing wrong. It’s harder to forgive someone who’s already caught in the act, yet they firmly deny what they’ve done. But he’s aware of his mistakes and he wouldn’t do them again. So we’re okay.)
The actress also explained that she forgave her partner because “no one is perfect,” while adding that she’d rather go through tough times with her partner than get romantically involved with someone new.
“Para sa akin, choice talaga ‘yun eh. Kasi wala rin naman talagang perfect na tao. Kahit ako, hindi rin naman ako perfect. Sabihin na nating magkakaroon din ako ng [bagong] relationship, for sure hindi rin naman magiging perfect ‘yun eh. Kaya nga sabi nila ‘di ba, ‘I’d rather have bad times with you, than good times with someone else,’” she said, an apparent reference to the song “I’d Rather” by Luther Vandross.
(For me, it’s a choice. No one is perfect. Even me, I’m not perfect. Let’s say I would get into a relationship with someone else, for sure he wouldn’t be perfect as well. This is why people would say, “I’d rather have bad times with you, than good times with someone else.”)

The “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” star then stressed that it’s “easy” to forgive someone, as she explained that choosing forgiveness over anger is a way of finding inner peace.
“Sa totoo lang, hindi lang talaga mahirap magpatawad. Talagang tao din kasi ‘yung mga nagpapa-kumplika ng mga ganyan. ‘Yung forgiveness, para sa’tin din naman ‘yun. Kapag pinatawad natin ‘yung tao, magkakaroon tayo ng peace sa sarili natin,” she said.
“And in fairness naman sa kanya, deserving naman siya,” she further added, while gesturing to Alonte.
(Honestly, it’s not hard to forgive. People just make it more complicated. Forgiveness is for [our own good actually]. When we forgive someone, we will have inner peace. And in fairness to him, he deserves it.)
In February 2023, Alonte revealed during an interview that Andalio caught him being an unfaithful partner a number of times in the past. He also revealed that they had to stop seeing each other at some point to heal.
Meanwhile, the actress declared that she sees her “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” co-star as “the one,” explaining that she won’t stay with him if she doesn’t see their relationship as worth keeping. /ra
