Janella Salvador and Jane De Leon, whose onscreen chemistry in “Darna” was well-received, are hoping to reunite for a “girls’ love” or GL project in the future.
The Kapamilya stars briefly spoke about working together as a romantic pairing during an Instagram Live last Sunday, Aug. 20, when asked if they’re open to reuniting for a possible project.
“GL daw. Wait lang, guys,” Salvador told fans, as captured by fan account @JaneNellaUpdate on Twitter. “Magtiwala kayo sa’min. Ang masasabi ko lang, what’s meant to be, will be.” (Trust us. What I can say is, what’s meant to be will be.)
“Relax lang kayo, kaka-live nga lang namin eh. Follow niyo muna siya sa Tiktok (Relax. We just went live. Follow her on Tiktok first,” De Leon chimed in.
“Magtiwala lang kayo sa amin. What’s meant to be.. will be.” 🤍

Salvador previously spoke about working as a love team with De Leon during an ambush interview last January, saying their onscreen pairing is a “representation of women’s love” in mainstream media.
“I really feel happy to represent the LGBTQ community. Kaya nila kami kinapitan kasi hindi sila na-represent nang maayos in terms of women’s love (They held on to our pairing because women’s love has not been properly represented). I’m glad they did because I want to be the voice of people who aren’t represented and I love the community,” she said.
“It would matter a lot to the community kaya open at willing ako. Kasi feeling ko, gusto nilang ma-represent nang maayos (I am open and willing to do it, because I feel that they wanted to be well-represented), and just because it’s different. We should normalize it [in local media],” she further said.
For her part, the “Darna” star hoped that their GL project would have a good storyline.
“Why not? Sana ‘yung story rin kasi it is all about the craft. Artist din kami so it’s a challenge if ever it happens (Why not? I hope the story is good because it’s all about the craft. We’re artists, so it’s a challenge if ever it happens),” she said. EDV
