Enchong Dee attended the 76th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland where he had the chance to meet “Elite” actor Omar Ayuso.
Dee, whose movie “Topakk” had its premiere at the Swiss film festival, gave a glimpse of his encounter with the Spanish actor through his Instagram page on Friday, Aug. 11. Ayuso portrayed the character that has the same name as his, Omar, in the Netflix drama series.
“It was a pleasure to meet you, [Omar Ayuso]. I was lucky enough to see his sold out art film but highly entertaining ‘On the go,'” Dee said in the caption, referring to Ayuso’s film which also premiered in Locarno.
“I asked him how many sequences they shoot in ‘Elitè’ and he said around 4. I told him back in the Philippines it’s 25 to 30 sequences a day,” Dee added.
The Filipino actor also met filmmaker Isabel Sandoval and artistic director Giona Nazzaro during the event. Dee bonded as well with TV host Maine Mendoza—his “Topakk” co-star Arjo Atayde’s wife—and fellow actor John Lloyd Cruz, who won the Locarno film fest’s Boccalino d’Oro prize (Golden Jug Award) for best actor.
“I’m still hoping for the day we can work together in a full feature film,” Dee said as he looked forward to being in a project together with Cruz.
“Topakk” is directed by Richard Somes and produced by Nathan Studios, with Strawdogs Studio Production and Fusee. Aside from Dee and Atayde, the film also stars Julia Montes, Sid Lucero and Kokoy de Santos. /ra
