I have enjoyed rediscovering a small piece of my youth by watching Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head which has had a very successful comeback on television. It has been a blast to go down memory lane with America’s two favorite teenage idiots whose personalities, attitudes, and humor scream the 90s.

This time, with the utilization of digital rendering, the animation is smoother, cleaner, and more polished. However, do not let that aesthetic fool you because Beavis and Butt-Head are as uncensored as they come because being themselves is what has made them famous in the first place.

Their ability to poke fun at everyday situations and make the most mundane things sound and look ridiculous is one of their many characteristics that have endeared them to children, teens, and adults for generations ever since they rose to prominence in the 90s on MTV. The two teenaged best friends have had the craziest adventures simply going through the motions of what each day brings to them, and that is not bad for Beavis and Butt-Head, whose trademark lines, quips, and catchphrases are many.

FEATURED STORIES

I think the fact that Beavis and Butt-Head have made a comeback during this time in which the woke movement is wreaking havoc and destroying so many classics, properties, and brands in television and movies is a miracle in its own right.

Like in South Park, Beavis and Butt-Head can’t be touched by the woke movement simply because they do not give a damn! Plus, they will make fun of you if you try to correct them, or better yet, you will be the topic of one of their new episodes. Nothing and no one are off limits for Beavis and Butt-Head. To put it simply, the woke movement is comprised of a bunch of bullies with distorted, twisted, and corrupted values who think they must all be followed at all costs. Too bad for them, Beavis and Butthead are not the following types.

It is proof that when creators do not give in or buckle down to the woke movement, their creations remain uncompromised, such as in the case of Mike Judge, who is the creator of Beavis and Butt-Head.

In short, Mike Judge did not “sell out” or let the changes happening around him compromise the integrity of his creation which has stopped longtime fans from turning their backs on Beavis and Butthead because their fans and followers realize that they are still the same characters they got to watch growing up and in their teens.

Beavis and Butt-Head are now in the present. However, their attitude remains unchanged as it was way back in the 90s. This leads them to a lot of interesting encounters with the everyday stereotypes of people we have now, and more often than not, the episodes are full of hilarity.

Clearly, they are time-displaced, which makes them even better because more often than not, the types of people they encounter are boring, bland, and dull. And Beavis and Butt-Head are the only ones with off-beat personalities.

For anyone unaware of the nature of Beavis and Butt-Head, in a nutshell, you can describe Beavis and Butt-Head as being very stupid but not mean-spirited. They simply have a super low I.Q., and they are on this endless mission to “score” with chicks. They love rock music, especially Metallica and AC/DC.

Beavis and Butt-Head are iconic cartoon characters. They are a staple of 90s popular culture and have remained relevant to this day. There was a time when their popularity even rivaled that of Bart Simpson of The Simpsons. It was a big help that Beavis and Butthead do not look like any other cartoon because it made people pay attention to them, or at the very least get curious to watch who these two large-headed cartoon characters are who keep on laughing at everyone. Then, from that moment on, they became fans.

These guys, Beavis and Butt-Head, arrived on the scene before South Park, Family Guy, American Dad, Futurama, and Rick and Morty. They are two of the forefathers of cartoons with an attitude.

A lot of credit has been given to Mike Judge for creating Beavis and Butt-Head because it inspired a new generation of cartoonists to push forward with their own style of animation, storytelling, and humor. Beavis and Butt-Head led the way in that regard, and it is only now that credit is being given to them. They certainly deserve it. It is so rare to have a cartoon from the 1990s come back unchanged. It is comparable to being in a time capsule, as I have not laughed that hard in many years while watching the episodes of Beavis and Butt-Head.

In an entertainment industry where everything is about conforming, pleasing everyone, and being politically correct, Beavis and Butt-Head live in their own world, where they do not care what people think of them. People can learn a thing or two from them. Yes, they are fictional characters; however, the message is there.

Thus, they are able to continue to enjoy life the way they have since the beginning of their adventures without fear of reprisal because for one, they are either too stupid to realize it, or they simply do not care. Either way, it works for them, and it works for the viewers because we get to watch them do things that we all wish we could do in the spirit of having fun.

Whether it is sitting on their couch while eating nachos and watching miscellaneous music videos, weird videos, or obscure movie clips, they always have something to say and are not afraid or reluctant to let everyone know what it is. No matter how dumb they might sound.

In many ways, what Beavis and Butt-Head were doing way back in the early 90s was pioneering a reaction to videos of all sorts while people watched them. Practically everyone is doing “reaction videos” now on YouTube; however, Beavis and Butt-Head were doing that decades ago. So, indeed, they were way ahead of their time. Who would have ever taught Beavis and Butt-Head to be originals and trailblazers? Well, for those who got to watch them in the 90s and now, in their comeback series, we all knew that they were very special to begin with.

Truly, Beavis and Butt-Head are a lot smarter than what people think. There is genius in their stupidity!
