Joey de Leon makes another cryptic remark about ‘celebrating when it’s right’

Joey de Leon appears not done with his tirades against a certain group on social media, as he spoke about “celebrating” victory for the right reasons.
Without disclosing anyone in particular, de Leon said in a cryptic post that there’s nothing wrong with raving about their victory, as long as it’s done without trampling on others, per his Instagram account on Monday, Aug. 7.
“Hindi masamang magsaya kung tama ang dahilan. Hindi masamang magbunyi kung wala kang nilamangan… at ninakawan!—-crEATor (There’s nothing wrong with celebrating for the right reasons. There’s nothing wrong with celebrating without stepping on anyone’s toes, and stealing — creator),” he said.

The host’s remark comes days after his acerbic thanks to Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. for “promoting” TV5 noontime show “E.A.T.,” which came at a time when the production company successfully renewed “Eat Bulaga’s” trademark registration for another 10 years.
Article continues after this advertisementDespite TAPE’s renewal, the comedy trio of de Leon, Tito Sotto, and Vic Sotto (TVJ) pointed out that the TAPE’s victory was shallow as it was only ministerial on the part of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) to grant any party’s application for renewal of trademark registration.
“Renewal of trademark registration is ministerial on the part of IPO Bureau of Trademarks, as long as the applicant submits a declaration of actual use and pays the fee. The renewal is without prejudice to the petition for cancellation which is pending sa Bureau of Legal Affairs ng IPO. Separate office sya,” TVJ lawyer Enrique dela Cruz Jr. said in a text message.
“Kailangan lang mag bayad online at mag file ng DAU – Declaration of Actual Use, mare-renew na agad ang registration,” he continued. EDV
