Charlie Dizon bared her feelings about her relationship with fellow actor Carlo Aquino, saying there is nothing wrong with being open about their happiness together.
At a medicacon for their upcoming film together, “Third World Romance,” Dizon was asked about her current state of relationship with Aquino, her costar, to which the actress said being happily in love is not a “bad thing.”
“Of course, kung masaya ka, bakit hindi mo ipangalandakan, diba? It’s not a bad thing na maging masaya,” she said. (Of course, when you’re happy, why wouldn’t you share it, right? It’s not a bad thing to be happy.)
“Totoo na mahirap maging masaya, kasi iba’t ibang phases ang pinagdadaanan mo. Kada phase ng buhay mo, may iba kang goal tapos hindi madali abutin ang goals mo kasi maraming external factors na hindi mo talaga ine-expect sa buhay mo. Siguro, importante na basta may karamay ka, may kakampi ka, panalo ka na,” she continued.
(It’s hard to be happy because you experience a lot of phases in your life. In every phase of your life, you have different goals that are difficult to reach due to unexpected external factors. Perhaps, it’s important that as long as you’re with someone, you’ve won.)
For his part, Aquino pointed out that he’s aware of naysayers expressing their displeasure towards their relationship, but he said their “happiness” is what matters the most.
“Meron at meron pa ring nagagalit, mga nanglalait. Wala na kaming magagawa doon basta ‘yung mga taong malapit sa’min at masaya para sa’min, ‘yun na lang ang pinapakinggan namin,” he said. (Many people are mad, and would throw curses. We can’t do anything about it. As long as the people that matter are happy for us, that’s what we would focus on)
The couple’s declaration comes months after Aquino confirmed that he’s dating Dizon last January through an interview with entertainment journalist MJ Felipe.
Meanwhile, Dizon addressed the actor as her “boyfriend” for the first time in public in July 2023, during her appearance at the TV5 morning show “Gud Morning Kapatid.” EDV
