MANILA, Philippines — After Pauline Amelinckx’s impressive first runner-up finish in the 2023 Miss Supranational pageant last month, bringing the country back to the Top 5 of the international competition 10 years after Mutya Datul’s victory, the hunt for the reigning queen’s successor begins.

The Belgian-Filipina beauty from Bohol finished second in the competition held in Poland on July 14 (Manila time), losing the coveted crown to Ecuador’s Andrea Aguilera.

The Miss Philippines Culture and Heritage Celebration, the newest and most ground-breaking national competition, now serves as the vehicle where the next Miss Supranational Philippines will be chosen. The contest will also produce the next Miss Charm Philippines who will succeed current queen Krishnah Gravidez.

Screenings for the new national competition will be conducted all Saturdays of August at Enderun CoWorking Estancia at the South Wing of Estancia Mall in Pasig City, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applicants must be single, and between 18 and 32 years old.

Applications for Mister Pilipinas Worldwide will also be held on the same dates and in the same location. The national male pageant is open to Filipino citizens between 18 and 35 years old. A minimum height requirement of 5’8” is imposed. Winners will represent the Philippines in some of the most prestigious international male competitions such as Mister Supranational and Manhunt International Male Supermodel.

The Filipino Festival

The Miss Philippines and Mister Pilipinas Worldwide will serve as back-to-back culminating events for “The Filipino Festival” mounted by Empire Philippines, the same group behind the annual Miss Universe Philippines pageant.

October will be considered The Filipino Festival Month, where some of the country’s most promising artists, artisans, craftsmen, musicians, filmmakers, and designers will showcase their talent for the global community to experience. International celebrities are also expected to arrive in Manila to enjoy the various festivities during the month-long occasion.

The Philippines’ rich and diverse cuisine will be showcased in “The Filipino Food Fest,” while “The Filipino Arts and Crafts Fest” will feature the world-class works of the artisans around the country.

There will also be “The Filipino Music Fest” to serve as a springboard for homegrown musicians’ world domination. A new breed of filmmakers who have the potential to hold their own beside the world’s best directors will find their spotlight at “The Filipino Film Festival.”

Established fashion pillars will share the runway with budding designers in “The Filipino Fashion Fest,” which will also feature the works of local weavers, embroiderers, fashion artisans, and models.

Successful applicants of The Miss Philippines and Mister Pilipinas Worldwide will also be heavily involved in The Filipino Festival Month. As ambassadors of the country’s culture and heritage, the two competitions’ official candidates will serve as influencers who will help promote the best of the Philippines to the world.
