BTS’ V will work with Min Hee-jin, creative director of K-pop rookie powerhouse NewJeans, for his upcoming debut album, according to his label Big Hit Music.

The solo album of V, born as Kim Tae-hyung, was confirmed by his label in a Sports Donga report on Wednesday, August 2, in which Min will be in charge of its “music, choreography, design, and promotional activities.”

Despite being “nervous” about his upcoming debut, V said in the report that the album will focus on a “new side” of himself, where his “taste” would be intact.

Meanwhile, Min revealed that she accepted the offer to work with the BTS member because of his “attitude and passion” after much thought.

“I received an offer at the end of last year. At first, I was hesitant because of V’s schedule, but I found his attitude and passion, and his timbre that I didn’t know well, interesting,” she was quoted as saying.

“At the same time, I prepared music that I wanted to suggest. Rather than a familiar style, I focused on the music we wanted to do and the music we could digest well. We were busy without blinking our eyes, but it seems like an interesting work has come out,” she continued.

Details about the premiere date and concept of V’s debut album are yet to be revealed, as of this writing.

V is the last member of BTS to debut as a solo artist after J-Hope, Jin, RM, Jimin, Suga, and Jungkook.

The K-pop idol debuted as BTS’ vocalist and visual in June 2013. Prior to his official solo debut, he released the songs “It’s You even if I Die,” “Sweet Night,” and “Christmas Tree.”
