Maine Mendoza shed tears of joy as she was serenaded with the song “Yellow” at the bridal shower organized by her “E.A.T.” family.

The bridal shower began with the actress-TV host being escorted to the studio while dancing to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies,” as seen in an episode of the noontime show on Saturday, July 22.

Before she sat on the queen chair in the middle of the stage, Mendoza was given a headband and a sash, both with the words “Bride to be.”

Singer Joey Generoso sang David Pomeranz’s “Got to Believe in Magic,” followed by show host Carren Eistrup’s performance of Bic Runga’s “Sway.” Guest host Ice Seguerra then brought the actress-TV host into tears after he sang his version of Coldplay’s “Yellow.”

“Maraming salamat Miss Tapsi (Ryzza Mae Dizon), couz Joey, Ice and Carren,” Mendoza said, referring to their skit names. “Thank you Ninong Vic [Sotto], Ninong Tito [Sotto], Ninong Joey [de Leon]. Maraming salamat din do’n sa mga Dabarkads na nandito ngayon.”

(Thank you so much, Miss Tapsi, cousin Joey, Ice and Carren. Thank you godfathers Vic, Tito and Joey, and also to the Dabarkads here in the studio.)

“Alam kong masaya kayo para sa tatahakin kong journey as a wife—wow, wife era. Thank you, thank you,” she added. (I know that you are all happy for my next journey as a wife—wow, [I’m in my] wife era.)

Mendoza is set to marry her boyfriend of four years, actor-politician Arjo Atayde. The couple, who met in 2018, announced their engagement in July last year.

While the pair has yet to disclose further details about their nuptials, De Leon earlier hinted that the couple will wed this July. The veteran TV host said this after he received gifts from Mendoza and Atayde for being one of the couple’s wedding sponsors or godparents, along with Tito and Vic.  /ra
