Kapuso stars Ruru Madrid and Bianca Umali celebrated their five-year journey as a couple, as “The Write One” co-stars took to social media to express their love for each other.
In his Instagram post on Wednesday, July 19, Madrid shared multiple snaps and videos with his girlfriend, including a clip of the pair singing along to Bruno Mars’ “Treasure,” during the Grammy Award winner’s concert in the Philippines last month.
Madrid was full of gratitude as he expressed how Umali has positively influenced his growth as a person.
“To my soulmate, my best friend, and my love, happy 5th anniversary. [emoji] Thank you for loving me at my worst. Thank you for inspiring me to do my best. Thank you for making me a better human. Thank you for being in my life,” wrote Madrid to the Kapuso actress-TV host.
“I love you Maria Isadora Bianca, [a]lways and forever [emoji],” his caption further stated.
Umali, in her commemoration of their relationship’s newest milestone, brought a sentimental feel to her Instagram post. She uploaded a video of the pair, walking hand in hand, as the sun was beginning to set.
She also wrote a poem to describe the five years they’ve spent together: “Ikaw at ako. Sa ating dalawa — walang labis, walang kulang. Sabi nga natin, tayo ang bumubuo sa isa’t isa.” (You and me. Between us, there’s no excess or lack. It’s us that complete each other.)
Umali also said that with everything that happened, no one, including the two of them, had predicted for their relationship to be where it is now. “Sa kabila ng lahat, sino ang magaakala… Kahit tayo, hindi natin inakala pero —Ito na tayo ngayon.” (Despite everything, who would have guessed — even us, we could not have known — here we are now.)
“Mahal na mahal na mahal kita (I love you very, very much),” Umali told her boyfriend as she concluded her message.
In the comments section, the actor — in keeping with the post’s poetic vibe — wrote, “Saan man tayo dalhin ng tadhana, gaano man katagal ang ating pagsasama [,] Alam ko na hindi ako magsasawa na makasama ka, habang ako’y nabubuhay. [emoji]”
(Wherever destiny takes us, however long we’ll last, I know that I’ll never get tired of being with you as long as I live.)
Madrid, during his guesting on “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” last year, revealed that he and Umali have been “dating for four years.”
In 2019, the pair allegedly had a confrontation at a parking lot, following the premiere night of Madrid’s film with Jasmine Curtis-Smith. Umali, in an interview with veteran TV host Boy Abunda, confirmed that such confrontation happened and further revealed that it led to their breakup. It would take eight months before the pair got back together. EDV
