Rachelle Ann Go to return as Eliza in ‘Hamilton’ Manila leg
Singer-theater actress Rachelle Ann Go is coming back to the Philippines to reprise her role as Eliza Hamilton in the hit musical, which will make its Asian premiere in the country on Sept. 17.
Go’s casting was confirmed in a video uploaded on GMG Productions’ official Facebook page on Wednesday, July 19, where the full cast of “Hamilton” was also revealed.
Also included in the cast as Jason Arrow (Alexander Hamilton), DeAundre’ Woods (Aaron Burr), Akina Edmonds (Angelica Schuyler), Darnell Abraham (George Washington), David Park (Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson), Shaka Bagadu Cook as (Hercules Mulligan and James Madison), Jacob Guzman as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton, Elandrah Eramiha (Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds) and Brent Hill (King George).
Meanwhile, Claire Abaijah-Griffin, Kirrah Amosa, Curtis Angus, Kyla Bartholomeusz, Taylor Broadard, Trey Curtis, Aniya Danée, Lachlan Dearing, Winston Hillyer, Indigo Hunt, Marcus John, Julian Kuo, Iosefa Laga’aia, Ashton Lash, HaNy Lee, Terrance Martin, Trevor Miles, Eliza Ohman, Callan Purcell, Joshua Rivera, Wesley Ryan, Emmy Saheki, Terrance Spencer and Dayton Tavares are also included in the cast, according to a release.
Article continues after this advertisementApart from “Hamilton,” Go also starred in several theater productions throughout her career, including “Les Miserables’” 30th anniversary stage, “The Little Mermaid” and “Tarzan,” among others.
Songwriter Lin Manuel-Miranda previously announced that the musical will be staged at The Theatre at Solaire in Parañaque City beginning Sept. 17.
Since its premiere in 2015, “Hamilton” bagged 11 awards and 16 nominations including the Tony Awards Best Musical and Pulitzer Prize for Drama. /ra
