Kris Aquino revealed that she chose to end her relationship with Mark Leviste because he has “many dreams left to fulfill” and “many obligations” to his constituents in Batangas.

Sharing a photo of herself with her sons Josh and Bimby, Aquino said on her Instagram post on Monday, July 17 that the Batangas vice governor has a “life beyond trying to help take care of me.”

“I gave you a cleansed version of why I ended my relationship with Marc. I didn’t lie when I said a long distance relationship is difficult,” she wrote. “But I saw he has many dreams left to fulfill and many obligations to the people who gave him their vote.”

The Queen of all Media then disclosed that she’s dedicated to “saving [her] life” because her sons “still need” her, as she noted that the politician has a “life” aside from taking care of her.

“I’m realistic enough that Marc has a life beyond trying to help take care of me. I apologize for seeming selfish but why will I add stress in my life when I am suffering 8,000 miles away?”

“If we had tried to stay together as couple, the ending would still be the same, tao rin ako na mapipikon at magtatampo dahil nararamdaman kong, hindi ba niya naisip ang hirap na pinagdaanan ko (I’m still human who gets annoyed and upset because I would feel that he doesn’t think about the hardships that I go through)?” she continued.

Aquino also confirmed that she was the one who initiated the breakup, as she explained that Leviste appeared “not ready” for the responsibilities to make their relationship work.

“Kaya minabuti ko nang sa’kin nang manggaling kasi nakita at naramdaman kong hindi siya handa sa responsibilidad ng seryosong relasyon kasama ang isang babae na tinanggap ang realidad na ‘yung buhay niya ngayon ay pinahiram na oras lamang ng Diyos,” she said.

(This is why I chose to end things because I feel that he’s not ready for the responsibilities of a serious relationship with a woman who accepted that her life is borrowed time from the Lord.)

Aquino also pointed out that she and the Batangas-based politician have the right to live the rest of their lives on their own terms, saying they’re “not meant for each other.”

“Pareho kaming may karapatan na mabuhay sa paraan na pinaka-payapa ang mga puso namin (We both have the right to live in ways we wanted, which would make our hearts peaceful). I’m keeping my word that he will never read nor hear me saying anything negative about him because what for? We’re not enemies, we just weren’t meant for each other,” she said.

Leviste appeared to have taken their separation in stride, as he spoke about “love” in the comments of her post.

Aquino’s revelation comes days after she made their breakup public through a “long-overdue gratitude,” where she also revealed that her condition got “progressively worse.”

The host-actress also shared that she asked for a “pause” in their relationship before Leviste returned to the Philippines. EDV
