The source of happiness
Why are some people hung up on owning a flashy car? They think having this sleek “accessory” makes them look cool and awesome.
But, to a farmer who hasn’t been conditioned by advertising or media, the luxury car is impractical. Family members cannot be accommodated in such a small car, and neither can baskets of fruits and vegetables. For him, a jeepney is of greater use and service.
Material objects don’t have any inherent value, like money. To use them properly, we need wisdom. They don’t bring us genuine happiness, either. You can hug your money all day, but you’ll feel no spark flowing through your heart.
A wise man knows that everything is owned by the Supreme Being. He uses resources to serve Him and His living beings—and happiness flows!
