Pauline Amelinckx is looking forward to representing the Philippines at the Miss Supranational 2023 pageant in Poland, as she thanked her team and supporters for being the reason behind her “burning fire.”
Amelinckx, who’s heading to Poland for the global tilt, said on Instagram last Sunday, June 25, that she “waited and prayed” to represent the country.
“Poland, here I come. This is really it. We have waited and prayed for this day and finally (after all the stressful, busy, sad and happy days) here we are,” she began.
“This is just the start, and although [I] do feel some nerves on this new journey, the excitement and gratitude outweigh all of that. We never really are 100% ready, (If we waited to be 100% ready all the time, we might never even start) [what’s] important is to have the courage to take that 1st step and be willing to grow along the way,” she said in the caption.
In her send-off pictures, Amelinckx can be seen wearing chunky fringe earrings that bore the colors of the Philippine flag — consisting of the sun with its rays and a white pearl in the middle. Dangling from the main part of the earring was a semi-circle tassle in colors blue and red, held together by three gold star studs.
Her earrings, made by Filipino jeweler and accessories designer Farah Abu, complemented her clean look, with her long hair tied in a sleek ponytail. Her getup of blue asymmetrical halter dress with thigh-high boots was put together by her design team at Aces and Queens.
‘Burning fire’
The beauty queen then spoke about her “dedicated” team and supporters, saying they are the reason behind her “burning fire.”
“[O]ne reason why I have this burning fire inside is because of the amazing and dedicated people who are part of this journey and help me bring out my best. I will be raising our flag high and will wear the Philippine sash across my heart with both humility and pride,” she said.
In a separate post, the Boholana-Belgian stunner said her send off at the Clark Airport in Pampanga was “so special” as it gave her the excitement to “grow outside my comfort zone.”
“This send off was so special for me. [It’s] my 1st time competing in a pageant abroad, 1st time to represent the Philippines, and also 1st time to be away by myself for this long (anticipating 4 weeks!),” she wrote.
“[It’s] new, [it’s] exciting, it’s also a little scary. But [that’s] exactly why I have to go through this and grow outside my comfort zone. And knowing that I have all this love and support from so many different and dedicated people fills me with so much strength! I hope I make you all proud on this journey,” she further added.
The beauty queen also shared that she “cried a little” because of “gratitude” before heading to Poland.
“Before [I] went to the pre-departure area, all of us shared a little prayer and a group hug. Of course I cried a little. But those were tears of gratitude and pure joy,” she said.
As of this writing, Amelinckx revealed on her Instagram Stories that she “landed safely” in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, at what seemed to be a connecting flight to Poland.
“Landed safely in Dubai and caught up on some sleep on the flight. Met some lovely Kababayans along the way too,” she said. “Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive in this journey. You don’t know how much your kindness has lifted me up and I hope I can do the same for you.”
Amelinckx, who is vying for the Philippines’ second Miss Supranational crown, recently won the pageant’s “YouTube Influencer Challenge” and made it to the Top 10 of its “Suprachat” challenge.
Reigning titleholder Lalela Mswane of South Africa will pass her crown to her successor this coming July 14. EDV
