Pauline Amelinckx has officially kicked off her Miss Supranational 2023 journey by opening up about her journey towards self-love, while showcasing the breathtaking wonders of the Philippines.
Amelinckx revealed in her Miss Supranational introduction video that being body-shamed was something she struggled with the most, which was uploaded in Miss & Mister Supranational Official’s YouTube channel last Saturday, June 17.
“We all faced different storms in our lives. One I’ve struggled with the most was being body-shamed. Sometimes, we’re told we’re not worthy because of how we look or how we don’t fit a certain mold,” she said.
Despite this, the Boholana-Belgian stunner realized that “changing the voices” within herself holds more power compared to the opinions of others, as a way of promoting self-love.
“It’s changing the voice in our own head to make it the kindest and most understanding. With self-love, we allow ourselves to be imperfect, to break the mold, be vulnerable, and grow. Our stories, mine and yours, have the power to inspire across borders,” she added.
Amelinckx, while sharing glimpses of her Miss Universe Philippines 2023 journey, daily life, and wondrous sights of the Philippines, also shared how her love for freediving inspired her to discover “new depths” about herself.
On Instagram last June 15, the beauty queen also looked stunning in her official headshot, where she donned a red sleeveless top and tilted her head while looking at the camera.
“SUPRA Headshot [heart and Philippine flag emojis] This is it! Our 1st @misssupranational challenge,” she said in the caption.
Amelinckx was crowned as Miss Supranational Philippines 2023 shortly after the national tilt’s coronation night last May of this year, where Makati’s Michelle Dee emerged as Miss Universe Philippines 2023.
She will represent the Philippines in the Miss Supranational 2023 pageant in Poland in July, where reigning titleholder Lalela Mswane of South Africa will crown her successor. EDV
