Kapuso actress Valerie Concepcion and her non-showbiz husband Francis Sunga are set to welcome a baby boy.

Concepcion, who is pregnant with her second child (the first with Sunga), announced the news in a gender reveal video which she uploaded on Instagram on Saturday, June 17.

In the video, the couple, both seated and blindfolded as they face each other, rub their hands with paint which they wiped on each other’s faces and arms, clothes and all.

As they removed their blindfolds, the pair was delighted to see their shirts, arms, and faces covered in blue paint, confirming the gender of their baby. Sunga then leaned closer to his wife for a kiss.

In a follow-up post, Concepcion revealed how her husband “had been secretly hoping for a baby boy,” adding how their prayers have been answered.

The “The Seed of Love” actress also greeted her husband of three years a happy Father’s Day. “Our two princesses and little prince are lucky to have you as their dad. [heart emoji],” she shared in the post’s caption, referring to her unborn son, her 18-year old daughter Heather, and Aleya, who is Sunga’s daughter from a previous relationship.

Responding to his wife’s message, Sunga commented, “Behind a great dad is a greater woman,” adding how their baby boy is the “best Father’s Day gift ever. [smiling face with three hearts emoji].”

Fans and friends from the entertainment industry congratulated the couple, including her “Because of You” co-star Carla Abellana and celebrity moms Yasmien Kurdi and Diana Zubiri-Smith.

Concepcion also took the opportunity to thank everyone who has celebrated with them ever since she announced her pregnancy last month. “Your congratulatory messages, kind words and well wishes have filled our hearts with warmth and joy,” she shared.

The “Raising Mamay” star also thanked their family and friends, sharing how their “love and support have lifted our spirits and made this journey even more magical,” and added how they are blessed “to have you all by our side” as they await the arrival of their baby boy.

Concepcion previously recalled on an episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” last month how her daughter, at one point, was looking for her father, which she said made her feel that she was not enough, but shared that she eventually understood that Heather was just at that stage in her life where she just wanted “to know where she came from, her roots, and her story.” EDV
