While it was not really an “Avengers, assemble!” moment, some cast members of the “Avengers” film series dropped birthday shout-outs to Chris Evans as the actor turned 42 on June 13.
Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo, who portrays the character of Bruce Banner or Hulk, took to Instagram to give his co-star “some birthday love.”
The “Spotlight” actor shared in his caption, “We haven’t laughed that hard in a while!” alluding to the photos he uploaded in his post—one during an interview, while the other on a movie set.
“Miss you, pal,” Ruffalo added.
“Thor” actor Chris Hemsworth, on his Instagram Stories, told Evans, “Happy Birthday to my favorite Chris,” and uploaded the perfect photo—a picture of Evans with him at the background, seemingly acting like a photobomber.
Another Marvel actor who sent his love to Captain America was Jeremy Renner who plays the role of Clint Barton or Hawkeye. In his Instagram Story, the “Wind River” star shared a snap with Evans in which both donned big smiles, and wrote, “Happy Birthday to my brother.”
In an interview with Variety, Evans spoke about visiting Renner in April after his snowplow accident, sharing how the visit was a tearless encounter. “Leave it to Jeremy to take something this potentially tragic and turn it into something so inspiring,” Evans said.
On his Instagram Stories, Evans thanked everyone who remembered his special day. “Wow!! Thank you all for the lovely birthday messages!!!” He also said how he’s “an incredibly lucky and grateful 42-year-old guy!”
He capped his response by asking his followers to also send their love to his “birthday twin” Aaron Taylor-Johnson who played the character of Pietro Maximoff in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” Pietro is the brother of Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen.
Before portraying Captain America, Evans appeared in a pair of “Fantastic 4” movies and “Nanny Diaries,” portraying the love interest of “Avengers” co-star Scarlett Johansson. EDV
