Alden Richards has expressed his loyalty to Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, saying he has the right to show his support for the original “Eat Bulaga” mainstay hosts because he owes his life to them.
Richards said during an ambush interview with TV5 entertainment reporter that his support for TVJ will last until the end of time. The interview was uploaded on TV5’s official YouTube channel last Monday, June 5.
“TVJ know that kahit ano pa man ang mangyari, my loyalty, ‘yung sarili ko is for them, regardless. I’ve always looked back doon sa mga taong nakatulong sa akin nang malaki,” he said.
The actor also pointed out that he has the “right” to defend the “Eat Bulaga” pillars since he considers them as a vital part of his showbiz career.
“I think I have the right to defend that stand because malaki ang utang na loob ko sa kanila. My support for them will go ‘til the end of time,” he said.
During the ambush, the “Hello, Love, Goodbye” star also addressed his cryptic Instagram Story last June 5, where he uploaded a facepalm emoji, which some netizens speculated to be a jab at the new “Eat Bulaga” since it was posted at the time it went on air.
“May pinagdadaanan lang na personal pero small things lang naman. Nothing that I can’t handle,” he said.
When prodded by Marfori if the post was referring to the updated noontime show, Richards firmly said that it is not the case. “No, of course not. Hindi po,” he said.
The actor is one of the most well-known stars who was part of the longstanding history of “Eat Bulaga,” where he gained widespread recognition after being one-half of the AlDub love team alongside Maine Mendoza.
The onscreen pairing has a cult following, with thousands of supporters continuing to show their admiration for the actors on social media. The former loveteam went on to star in the noontime show’s “KalyeSerye” subsegment, as well as projects like “Imagine You and Me,” “Destined To Be Yours,” and “My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore.” EDV
