Pambansang Bae Alden Richards may be busy with his television commitments but he does not consider leaving his home “Eat Bulaga” to lighten up his load, “malaki po ang utang na loob ko sa Eat Bulaga.”

“Hindi ko po kinonsider ‘yun eh. Malaki po ang utang na loob ko sa “Eat Bulaga” sobra po kaya ‘yung konting effort na puyat from taping tapos papasok the next day parang maliit na bagay lang po ‘yun na kaya ko naman pong i-manage,” he said at the recent media conference for his new series “Victor Msagtanggol.”

(I did not consider that. I have a huge debt of gratitude to ‘Eat Bulaga,’ so much so that a little effort of being sleep-deprived from taping and working the next day is a small thing that I can manage.)

“As much as kaya ko pong hindi po ganun ka-late ‘yung pack-up at kaya ko pong gumising the next day for EB gumisiging po ako,” he added.

(As much as I can pack up not too late and wake up the next day for EB, I wake up.)

Richards may have started in showbiz early in his teenage years but it was his stint as an “Eat Bulaga” host that catapulted him into skyrocketing fame as the other half of phenomenal split-screen team-up otherwise known as AlDub with breakout star Maine Mendoza.

What started out as an unexpected pairing ended up to be one of the most iconic team-ups of today’s generation.

It was all because of the long-running noontime show’s “Kalyeserye segment that Richards was deeply endeared into the hearts of the masses.

Now, apart from “Eat Bulaga” and “Sunday Pinasaya,” he top-bills GMA’s upcoming fantasy series “Victor Magtanggol.”

For him, he is much too grateful for the noontime program that he would rather stretch himself out than choose to leave “Eat Bulaga” to focus on other shows.
