No more shopping for leather products, says Nadine Lustre as she rocks leather boots bought in 2020
Nadine Lustre has reaffirmed her commitment to following a vegan lifestyle after saying that she no longer buys leather-made goods.
Lustre shared this during an interview with celebrity dermatologist Dr. Aivee Teo, as seen in a video uploaded on the latter’s YouTube channel last Saturday, May 20, where she opened up about practicing a more sustainable philosophy.
“I stopped buying leather na,” she began. The actress, who was noticeably wearing leather boots during the interview, clarified that she bought them back in 2020.
“When I switched to vegan, that’s when I became more conscious, then I started becoming more and more empathetic to animals. Every time I would see an animal [being transported] in trucks, [or] hung meat. It makes me feel really bad. It’s another level of empathy, it’s like I could feel the pain the animal went through,” she continued.
The “Ulan” star, who shared that she would be jetting off to Monaco with her boyfriend Christophe Bariou, also revealed that she went vegan for eight months. She was first reported to have switched to the vegan practice in March 2023.

While the “Dance with Danger” singer admitted that she missed eating cheese, she expressed her commitment in following a more sustainable lifestyle from her food to fashion choices.
“I really miss the cheese, especially going to [a country like] France. You know ‘yung brie, camembert, ‘yung mga yun, oh my. I [also] pick the wine I drink ‘cause sometimes it has animal products. Hindi pwede. No seafood, no dairy. There’s bread naman that doesn’t have any eggs. Like mga sourdough that doesn’t have egg,” she added.
Lustre is known for being vocal about environmental awareness, and was even named an “honorary park ranger” by the private conservation area in Rizal.
The singer-actress previously admitted during a Cosmopolitan Philippines interview that she would most likely be arrested for “defending the environment.” EDV
