Yassi Pressman open to joining cast of ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ in the future: ‘That’s my family’

Yassi Pressman has admitted that she’s open to joining the cast of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” which stars her former “Ang Probinsyano” leading man Coco Martin, if she’s given the chance to do so.

Pressman made the statement in response to a question from “Magandang Buhay” host Regine Velasquez, as seen in a snippet froom the morning show’s May 17 episode which was uploaded on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s official YouTube channel.

“Yassi, may mga nagtatanong, siyempre number one na naman si ‘Batang Quiapo,’ and for so many years, naging part ka ng ‘Ang Probinsyano.’ May mga nagtatanong na netizens kung willing ka bang pumasok sa ‘Batang Quiapo,” Velasquez asked the actress-dancer.

“Oo naman po, siyempre (Yes, of course),” Pressman replied. “That’s my family eh.”

The actress also shared that she worked with the cast of “Batang Quiapo” for quite some time, saying that she developed a positive working relationship with them in the past.

“Parang ‘yung araw-araw din na magkakasama silang lahat, nakakamiss din siyempre. I’m super happy [for everybody]. Nagsho-shooting ako ng ‘Kurdapya’ tapos noong dinner break namin, pinanood ko [‘yung pilot episode]. Sabi ko, ‘Ang husay pa rin talaga ng mga ‘to.’ Ang galing-galing po talaga nila,” she said.

(I remembered being with them everyday, and I missed them, of course. I’m super happy for everybody. I’m shooting for “Kurdapya” and during dinner break, I was able to watch its pilot episode. I said, “They’re still very good.” They’re really, really good.)

During the show, Pressman also expressed her gratitude to the cast and crew of “Ang Probinsyano” as it opened up more acting opportunities for her.

To recall, Pressman starred as Alyanna Arevalo-Dalisay, the wife of Cardo Dalisay (Coco Martin), although her character died at a crossfire between Task Force Aguila and an armed unit during the show’s Jan. 25, 2021 episode.

“Batang Quiapo” and “Ang Probinsyano” are based on the films of the same name starring the late actor-filmmaker Fernando Poe Jr. who’s also known as FPJ. The ABS-CBN teleseryes are both top billed by Martin. EDV
