Gigi De Lana disclosed that she and her Gigi Vibes bandmates figured in a road accident in La Union because their driver had fallen asleep, but she assured fans that she already underwent medical tests and, fortunately, did not sustain severe injuries.

Wala naman pong na-detect na anything,” she spoke of her condition during an interview for “Julius and Tintin” on Tuesday, May 16.

(I have a lot of bruises but my x-ray and CT scan results were [all good]. Nothing was detected. The left side of my body was affected the most. I was lying down when the accident happened so I was thrown to the driver’s seat.)

The singer then narrated in detail the accident that happened last Sunday, May 14, while they were traveling from Aurora to Ilocos Norte.

Habang kausap nila si Josh, kumakanta pa, a few seconds later parang nakaidlip,” she told hosts Julius Babao and Christine Bersola. (MJ, Jon and Josh were at the front seat—they were talking to Josh. A few seconds later, Josh dozed off.)

(MJ didn’t notice that Josh had dozed off and there were no other vehicles on the road. He thought Josh was just going to park the vehicle to rest, but we weren’t stopping, so MJ shouted at him. Josh managed to step on the brake before we crashed into a truck.)

De Lana said that she and her bandmates had themselves checked by a doctor before they decided to continue their scheduled show. However, De Lana suddenly felt dizzy, experienced heartburn and increased heart rate when she was exposed to the lights while performing on stage.

“Para [akong] magba-black out. (I felt like I was going to black out. I did not completely faint, but I felt dizzy and felt the pain, then I could not control my voice.)

De Lana is still recovering from the accident even as she has begun her two-month break to treat the nodules on her throat.

She then addressed her fans and said, “Maraming salamat sa inyo sa suporta at hintayin niyo lang ako. Magpapagaling ako and babalik ako nang mas malakas at mas healthy.” (Thank you for your support and just please wait for me. I will recover and I will return stronger and healthier.)
