Maja Salvador to focus on ‘light’ projects for now: ‘Ayoko mag-mukhang haggard sa kasal ko’
Maja Salvador is taking a short break from heavy acting such as in teleseryes and films as part of her preparation for her July wedding to her non-showbiz fiancé Rambo Nuñez.
At a media conference for her upcoming game show “Emojination” on TV-5 with comedian Awra Briguela, Salvador said that her wedding preparations are her topmost priority at the moment, and part of her preparation was to look her best on her special day.
Salvador then revealed that she’s setting her sights towards doing light-themed projects for the meantime, where she pointed out that she doesn’t want to look “haggard” in her upcoming wedding.
“Kasi sinabi ko rin na ikakasal na ako, gusto ko ng light sana muna. Kasi kung gagawa ako ng teleserye or pelikula, tapos drama or action, maha-haggard ako sa kasal ko. Ayoko namang mag-mukhang haggard sa kasal ko. Kaya maswerte ako na [‘Emojination’] ang binigay sa aking proyekto,” she said.
(I said that I’m getting married soon, so I wanted to do light projects for a while. Because if I’m going to do a drama- or action-themed teleserye or film, I will look haggard on my wedding. I don’t want to look haggard at my wedding. So, I’m lucky that “Emojination” was the project that was offered to me.)

(Since I’ve been in the industry for 20 years, I realized that I can still explore and show a lot of things. And I’m happy that my APT Entertainment family gave me the go-signal to do this project, I’m grateful because I was one of those considered to be the host.)
Salvador, however, didn’t indicate during the press conference when she will make her acting comeback.
The actress’ statement comes a month after her label Crown Artist Management confirmed her departure from noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” where she cited her wedding and its “uncertainties” as some of the reasons why.
The “Wildflower” star, who announced her engagement to Nuñez in April 2022, is set to tie the knot this coming July, although she did not give further details about the ceremony.
Salvador held her bachelorette party last April 2023 thrown by her loved ones and friends, including celebrities Kakai Bautista, Kathryn Bernardo, Maine Mendoza, Precious Lara Quigaman, and Miles Ocampo, among others. EDV
