Melanie Marquez is one supportive mom as she cheered on her daughter Michelle Dee, days before the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night.
Through her Instagram Stories, Michelle showed a screenshot of a message she got from the Miss International 1979 titleholder.
“Good evening anak. I’m watching all your exposure in the Miss Universe 2023. [You’re] doing great!” Marquez said in the message.
“Just be yourself. Relax but don’t forget to claim on stage that you’re wearing a crown elegantly, smiling radiantly as you sway your hips [while] walking on stage,” she advised her daughter. “I am your number 1 avid fan! I love you!”
Michelle then expressed her appreciation for her mom as she said, “This means a lot coming from her. Hoping I can give her the best mother’s day gift soon.”

Michelle is one of the 38 candidates vying for the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 crown. At the preliminary competition, Michelle won three special awards, namely the Miss Zion Philippines, Miss Aqua Boracay and Miss Pond’s.
The pageant’s coronation night will be held on Saturday, May 13, and will be graced with the presence of Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel. /ra
