Miss Universe Organization (MUO) owner Anne Jakrajutatip revealed that she has apologized to Catriona Gray “for what happened in the past,” which was captured during an event in Thailand back in November 2022.
Jakrajutatip made the revelation during an interview with Boy Abunda for “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Tuesday, wherein she was asked about her interaction with the Miss Universe 2018 titleholder.
At that time, the Thai mogul was caught on video having a sort of heart-to-heart conversation with Gray at an event in Bangkok.
Gray was previously in a relationship with actor-model Clint Bondad, who, after their bitter breakup, became involved with Jakrajutatip
Without alluding to Bondad, the MUO owner noted that she took the opportunity to “clear the air” with Gray, especially that it was her first time to meet the latter during the event. “I respect [Catriona Gray] so much, and it was my first time seeing [her],” she said, before showing Abunda how she apologized to the former beauty queen.
“I said, ‘I’m Anne Jakrajutatip and I came here to apologize for what happened in the past but I’m so glad that you’re here in Thailand. Welcome to the family of JKN and Miss Universe Organization. I love you, my dear, from the bottom of my heart,’” she further said.
During the interview, Abunda asked the Thai businesswoman why she needed to say sorry to Gray at that time, to which she responded, “Of course, I do not have to answer” before laughing.
“I just wanted to get it out [of] my chest. Right now, I want to clear the air,” she added.
The media personality then lauded Jakrajutatip for having the “courage and humility” to address the issue with the “Raise Your Flag” singer, which the MUO owner appreciated
“I just need to do it. From now on, we have to work together. So, [we just have to] put the past [away] and don’t talk about it [or] mention it again,” she added.
During the show’s fast talk segment, Jakrajutatip excitedly revealed that Gray is her “favorite beauty queen.”
Gray, who was crowned Miss Universe 2018, was with Bondad for six years before she confirmed their split in February 2019. She announced her engagement to actor-singer Sam Milby on February 16.
Meanwhile, Jakrajutatip previously denied any romantic relationship with Bondad, saying she only sees her as her “little brother.” EDV
