Bea Alonzo says she got drunk during reunion with Johnny Manahan, former Kapamilya friends

Time flies when you’re having fun, and for Bea Alonzo, it might also make one a bit, or a lot, tipsy.
Such was the case when she recently hanged out with her celebrity friends who were all wards of former ABS-CBN and Star Magic executive Johnny Manahan during the belated celebration of the latter’s birthday.
Among these celebrities who joined the reunion were Heart Evangelista, Maja Salvador, Jericho Rosales, John Lloyd Cruz, Deither Ocampo, Kyle Echarri, and Piolo Pascual, whose birthday last January was also being celebrated.
“We’re very happy that we were able to see each other, so nagpa-dinner sina Mr. M. First time lang namin nakita ‘yung apartment nilang bago, and ang daming nangyari noong [gabing iyon] kaya sobrang saya. Hindi ko ine-expect na malalasing ako. Para akong nag-birthday party kasi ako ‘yung pinaka-nag-enjoy,” said Alonzo in a vlog which was uploaded on your YouTube channel last April 22.

I didn’t expect to get drunk. I felt like I was the one who celebrated my birthday because I enjoyed the night the most.)
According to the actress, their get-together was supposed to be a celebration of Pascual and Manahan’s special days, but it kept getting pushed back due to their busy schedules.
Pascual’s birthday falls on January 12, while the revered starmaker’s birthday is on February 11.
“The reason behind this reunion is because birthday nina Piolo and Mr. M, and since January, pinipilit na naming magtagpo-tagpo ang schedules namin pero hindi nangyari until just recently,” Alonzo said, referring to Manahan using his nickname.

Alonzo said the gathering felt like a “college or high school reunion,” noting that it has been a while since she saw her celebrity friends. “It was really nice to rekindle friendships with the people I grew up with, especially si Heart and lagi na kaming magkasama. I was really happy to see Piolo, of course Mr. M, and everyone else, including John Lloyd, sina Maja, Diether na matagal ko nang hindi nakikita,” she said.

“Kapag kasama mo ‘yung mga taong [kinalakihan mo], parang na-break down ‘yung walls mo and you just enjoy and be yourself, and not worry about what everyone thinks of you,” she further added. (When you’re with the people you grew up with, it’s like your walls have been broken down. You can just enjoy and be yourself, and not worry about what everyone thinks of you.)
During the vlog, Alonzo also clarified that the reunion was not for an upcoming film but she hoped to work with them again in the future. “Marami kaming pinag-usapan na movies together,” she added with a smile. (We talked about working together in movies again.)
Alonzo, Evangelista, Rosales, Pascual, Cruz, Salvador, and Ocampo were former Star Magic talents, before they all went to their respective paths in the entertainment industry. Meanwhile, Manahan has since moved to TV-5.
On the other hand, the reunion marked the first time Evangelista and Rosales were seen together again since 2017. The ex-partners were in a relationship until their controversial split in 2008. Following their break-up, the actress-socialite said Rosales is her “greatest love” in an interview in Yes! magazine in May 2013.
Rosales is now happily married to Australian model and fashion influencer Kim Jones since May 2014, while Evangelista wed Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero in February 2015.
Alonzo earlier disclosed that she had been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which she blamed for her gaining a little weight. EDV
