Jodi Sta. Maria, Joshua Garcia go through ‘sensuality workshops’ for ‘Unbreak My Heart’
Jodi Sta. Maria has spoken up about her passionate kiss with Joshua Garcia in the teaser of “Unbreak My Heart,” revealing that they had gone through sensuality workshops just to pull off the intimate scene.
Sta. Maria admitted that she didn’t expect her kiss scene with Garcia to go viral during an ambush interview with reporters at a brand event.
The topic was brought up after the actress was asked about their passionate scene which can be found in the upcoming teleserye’s teaser and which was uploaded on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel last March 31.
“[Joshua Garcia] and I had to go through sensuality workshops for that intimate scene na ginawa namin. Hindi naman namin ine-expect mag-viral ‘yun. And, I guess hindi rin ‘yung ine-expect ng mga tao na ganoon ‘yung gagawin [namin] pareho kasi unexpected ‘yun. Parang 20 years ‘yung age gap namin ni Joshua so na-surprise ang mga [manonood],” she said.

“Natutuwa ako kay Josh kasi ibibigay niya kung anong hinihiling sa kanya and natutuwa raw siya kasi first time daw niyang mag-sensuality workshop na gan’un ka-intimate ‘yung scene. Parang ganoon niya i-professionalize ‘yung those kinds of scenes,” she added.
(I’m happy to have worked with Josh because he does what is expected of him. He’s also happy in doing this because he said that it was his first time to have a sensuality workshop for that kind of intimate scene. It is how he professionally handles these scenes.)
Sta. Maria also revealed that she and the “Darna” star discussed their “boundaries” during their workshops, which made them develop their trust in each other as co-actors.
“We discuss boundaries when we do sensuality workshops, kung saan ka komportable and hindi kayo lalabas sa pinag-usapan. Doon din nade-develop,” she said. (We discuss boundaries when we do sensuality workshops, such as what we are comfortable doing and making sure that we won’t stray from that.)
“When you do scenes like those kasi, may trust na nade-develop sa isa’t isa, ang hirap na gumawa ng ganung klaseng eksena na ganun ka ka-sensitibo kung hindi mo pinagkakatiwalaan sa iyong [co-actor] kasi magiging rock mo iyon when it comes to getting into the scene and character,” she further explained.
(When you do those types of scenes, we develop trust towards each other. It’s hard to those sensitive scenes if you don’t trust your co-actor, because he or she would be your rock when it comes to getting into the scene and character.)
While the actress remained tight-lipped about the details of “Unbreak My Heart,” she shared that they are still filming for the drama.”
“Well, patuloy pa rin naman kaming nagsho-shoot for ‘Unbreak My Heart,’” she simply said with a bright smile. (Well, filming for ‘Unbreak My Heart’ is still ongoing.)
