“Boston Marathon 2023! Definitely one of the most hilly world major marathons I have done thus far but one of the most beautiful views and crowd support,” she said in the caption.

Gonzalez expressed her gratitude to fellow Filipinos who supported her during the event, noting how some of them even ran with her on the course.

“Thank you for all your prayers. Will be sharing my marathon stories/journey with you all in the days to come [and] so many people to thank but for now, sharing first, the giving of the medal after the marathon,” she added.

Gonzalez then spoke about the hurdles she was able to overcome during the marathon, crediting her training coach for guiding her to be “race ready.” She also thanked her husband, actor Aga Muhlach, and their twins, Atasha and Andres.

“Every marathon has a story to tell. It was a very [emotional] ending for me. I was crying non-stop,” she stated. “First time I had no base training [and] went straight to marathon training [for] 3 to 4 months, [and] in my last month unfortunately I was dealing with an injury which [led] me to skip some training sessions.”

“I ran with an injury today [and] in the beginning of the race today, my nutrition/hydration fell and got lost on the course (which is so important in a marathon),” she continued. “I was praying the whole time, for the utmost safety [and] I thank God for pulling me through… My tears are tears of thankfulness.”
