Blackpink’s talent agency, YG Entertainment, said it will take legal action against those spreading rumors to defame their artist, Rosé, who has been hounded with drug-use accusations on social media.
“This is YG Entertainment. We reveal that the rumors associated with BLACKPINK’s Rosé that are spreading on various online communities, social media, etc. are clear false information,” as per a statement obtained by Korean media outlet Soompi on Thursday, April 13.
The talent company did not mention anything specifically, although it can be noted that rumors linking Rosé to illegal drug use arose earlier after Italian fashion designer Riccardo Tisci shared a now-deleted Instagram photo with the “Gone” singer.
In the said photo, the two of them and several other acquaintances including Korean actor Kang Dong-won were surrounding what appears to be a center table. On the top of the table were glasses, a bottle and what appears to be ash trays which netizens seemingly have mistaken for drug paraphernalia.
“We are taking legal action against acts that violate the human rights of and defame our agency artist,” the talent agency added. “We are currently monitoring those who created and spread the rumors, and will take strong legal action in the future without any leniency or settlement.”
Rosé, alongside her fellow Blackpink members Lisa, Jisoo and Jennie, went to the Philippines last March as part of their “Born Pink” world tour. /ra
